Bail plea of 8 rejected in Ruby triple murder case

Vadodara, Apr 30 (UNI) A local court today refused bail to eight men, held in connection with the infamous Ruby case, in which three persons were killed.

The eight accused - Rajesh guruji Balvirsinh Rajawat, Samir Modh Sadir Jagok, Jaiesh Sivabhai Patel, Kaushik Kalubhai, Kaijath Sohrabuddin Shroff, Jitu Mavabhai Patel, Kantilal Mavjibhai Luhar and Kutiaz Abdul Wahab Arab, had filed an application for bail in a Magistrate's court here, but were refused bail as Judge A F Dave said the triple murder ''is a serious crime where no bail can be considered''.

Public prosecutor Bhumikaben Trivedi made submission against granting of bail to the accused.

A total of 14 persons are being held in judicial custody in connection with the case.

It may be recalled that a Ruby which belonged to Samir Jagot of Rajkot was given to two brothers--Darshan Thakkar and Mihir Thakkar and two others - Balakrishna Patel and Jayanti Patel.

Jayanti is accused of killing the two brothers and Balakrishna to possess the Ruby in January, this year.

The bodies of the three were recovered a month later, buried in a field in Santrampur in Panchmahal district.
