ASI gets life imprisonment for killing person over argument

Bhuj, Apr 30 (UNI) A local court today awarded life imprisonment to an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 for killing a person over an argument in 2004.

Additional Sessions Judge C H Kosti of Gandhidham Fast Track Court convicted ASI Manjibhai Dhabi for murdering Dineshsinh Jadeja.

Mr Dhabi had shot Jadeja at point blank range with his service revolver after an argument ensued between them over one Devendra, who was arrested by the former on April 15, 2004 during parliamentary poll in Bachau town, 80 km from here.

Jadeja died on way to the Bhuj Civil hospital.

The Bhuj police had registered a complaint under section 302 of the IPC.
