Agitation against Cauvery Tribunal's final verdict continues

Mysore, Apr 30 (UNI) Farmers and other organisations protesting against Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal's (CWDT) final award continued their protests for the 85th day in the Cauvery basin today.

In Mandya district, the Kirugudu and other village farmers took part in the dharna, organised by Cauvery Raitha Hitha Rakshana Samithi at silver jubilee park.

Later, they detained Bangalore-Mysore express train for some time at Mandya station.

Traffic on the highway, connecting the two cities, was disturbed for some time with farmers staging road blockades.

Dharnas continued at Mandya, Maddur, Pandavapura and Srirangapattana.

The Krishna Cauvery Raitha Kirya Samithi, which took out procession in various places in the district continued to give awareness among the farmers on the impact of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal's final award.

In Mysore, the Cauvery Horata Kirya Samithi, continued with their signature campaign at K R circle.
