About 600 families affected due to last weeks storm

Agartala, Apr 30 (UNI) Norwester wrecked havoc in Khowai sub-division of Tripura's West district leaving 600 families homeless.

According to official sources here today, houses of at least 600 families have been affected and of these houses belonging to 300 families were razed to the ground in last week's norwesters.

A nmumber of areas under Dhalai district were also badly affected due that day's storm mainly in Kamalpur, Ambassa, longtharai Valley sub-divisions.

The Sub-divisional authorities rendered financial helps to the affected families for renovating the damaged houses.

While the families affected were sheltered in local schools and their houses repaired on warfooting, electicity supplywould take a few more day to be restored completely.
