Vanzara village Ilol turns into a fortress

Palanpur, Apr 29 (UNI) IIol, a sleepy village some 15 km from Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha, now looks like a police fortress and it has caught the nation's attention after the arrest of DIG D G Vanzara, accused in the fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin.

Police, however, claimed that it is part of the bandobust after the attack on mediapersons yesterday.

According to sources, two persons, a crane operator and the owner of the crane, were picked up from the Mahetapura locality by a police team yesterday. Residents say the crane was believed to have been used in closing the well that is believed to contain the remains of Kauserbibi, wife of the deceased Sohrabuddin.

People feel that DIG Vanzara might be brought to the village.

District police chief I M Desai said ''Local police are usually not informed by the investigating officials and I do not endorse any rumours in this regard.'' UNI
