TRS MLA 'goes missing' in fake passport case

Hyderabad, Apr 29 (UNI) Close on the heels of the surrender of the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah before a local court on April 27 in connection with fake passport case, another TRS MLA, who was reportedly involved in a similar case, had gone absconding, according to informed sources.

They claimed S Babu Rao elected from Bodh in Adilabad District had obtained a fake passport, claiming another woman to be his wife.

One of the nine dissident TRS MLAs, Rao reportedly had links with travel agencies and met several aides of Rashid, one of the main accused in the Babubhai Katara human trafficiking case, to obtain the fake passport.

The sources said the police swung into action to gather information about his links with Rashid and his alleged involvement in the case. Passport authorities were trying to find out how Mr Rao had obtained a fake passport violating rules.

Police have launched a hunt to nab the TRS MLA who was absconding, they added.
