TN Gov for 100 per cent literacy
Coimbatore, Apr 29 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala today said 100 per cent literacy should be achieved to bring about socio-economic development in the country.
Speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of Avinashilingam University for Women here, he said combined effort of all citizens would make the nation a developed country.
Mr Barnala lauded the Avinashilingam University for providing opportunities to students for all-round development.
He appreciated the University's NSS unit for adopting 22 villages around the city and said such activities would bring a sense of social awareness among the students and develop their leadership qualities.
