Three seriously injured in a fire

Barrackpore, Apr 29 (UNI) Atleast three people, including a woman and a child, were seriously injuried in a fire which broke out in a slum at Titagarh in North 24 Parganas today.

The fire, which lasted for more than a hour, gutted down 12 huts, according to fire brigade officials.

Five fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire.

The injured women(30) was admitted to a nearby sub-divisional hospital and the others, who sustained minor injuries, were provided first-aid locally.

The cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, a divisional fire official Pankaj Mullick said, however, they suspect that the fire might have broken out from a lighted stove, he added.xc/pp/src1219
