S'pore Transport Minister on 5 day visit to India

Singapore, Apr 29: Singapore's Transport Minister Mr Raymond Lim is undertaking a five day visit to India, aimed at enhancing economic ties between the two countries and exploring new business opportunities.

Mr Lim who is also the second Minister for foreign Affiars, who left for India today, will visit Mimbai and Chennai apart from New Delhi.

During the trip, Minister Lim will have meetings with Indian political leaders and senior government officials including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Civil Aviation Praful Patel and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Mr Lim will also be visiting several Indian aviation and maritime companies in these states. While in Mumbai, Mr Lim will speak at the International Business Conference organised by the Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC) on May 3 2007.

He will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Maritime Port Authority (MPA), International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore), and the Singapore Airport Consortium (SAC) companies.
