Shimla remains hot at 26.3

Shimla, Apr 29 (UNI) Temperatures continue to remain three to five degrees above normal in Himachal Pradesh with Shimla town recording a high of 26.3 degrees Celsius today, the met office said.

The state capital recorded a maximum of 26.3 degrees, which was about three degrees above normal during this period of the year.

Yesterday, the town recorded the season's hottest day during the summers up till now with a maximum temperature of 26.4 degrees.

However, the town's night temperature soared to 17.3 degrees, making it the hottest night of the summer season, uptil now, as against 16.2 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday.

The met office said Una town was the hottest place in the state with a day temperature of 39 degrees, while the maximum at Kalpa in Kinnaur district rose to 22.9 degrees Celsius.

Sundernagar recorded a maximum of 36.2 degrees, followed by 34.2 degrees at Bhuntar and 32.1 degrees at Dharamshala.

The met office said Sundernagar, Bhuntar, Kalpa and Dharamshala recorded night temperatures of 15.7, 12.7, 5.4 and 20.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

A mainly clear sky in the state during the next 24 hours is predicted.
