Rs 20 lakh fake currency seized, 1 held
Kozhikode, Apr 29 (UNI) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today arrested a passenger from Dubai and seized fake currency worth Rs 20 lakh from his possession.
According to DRI sources, the sleuths, on a tip-off, arrested Khadir Abdul Majeed, who arrived at the Karippur International Airport from Dubai and seized the fake currency from him.
The sources said the currency in the denominations of Rs 500 (2,400 nos) and Rs 1,000 (800 nos), was concealed in his bag.
Majeed, a resident of Uppala in Kasaragod District, would be produced before a magistrate tomorrow, the sources added.
