Rains forecast in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala

Pune, Apr 29 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, south Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in isolated parts of northwest Rajasthan. Heatwave conditions also prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir, some parts of east Rajasthan, and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, southwest Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, north Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, West Madhya Praesh, some parts of Uttaranchal, south Chattisgarh, north Telangana and coastal Karnataka. They were above normal in some parts of Gujarat, east Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, south interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They were below normal in Bihar, some parts of Assam, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa and Jharkhand. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, and at isolated places in Orissa, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Maindly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
