No pressure on Delimitation Commission: Kuldip Singh

Gulbarga, Karnataka, Apr 29 (UNI) Delimitation Commission of India Chairman Kuldip Singh today made it clear that there was no pressure on the Commission from any quarter and it was carrying out its work in accordance with the law.

Talking to reporters here today, Justice Singh said the Commission was of the view that a list would be prepared in descending order with regard to the SC and ST constituencies of Lok Sabha and the Assembly.

''There will be a cluster or split with regard to the SC constituencies, but there will be no separation or split in ST constituencies,'' he said.

Most of the political leaders wanted their constituencies to be intact but the Delimitation Commission would go as per the law, he said.

In the next two weeks, the delimitation process in the state would be completed, he said adding by July 1, the entire process of delimitation would be completed in the country.

Earlier, the Commission held a public sitting on delimitation in which representatives of various political parties expressed their views.
