Namdhari to fight Daltonganj by-poll independently
Ranchi, Apr 29 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Assembly speaker Inder Singh Namdhari today said he would fight the by-poll to the Daltonganj Assembly seat as an independent candidate.
Mr Namdhari resigned as JD(U) mla from Daltonganj constituency last month following his differences with the party.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Namdhari said he would file his nomination papers on May 14.
He alleged that his political allies were misleading the people by saying that he had an understanding with the BJP for supporting its candidate in the by-polls to the Palamu Parliamentry seat.
Meanwhile, the JD(U) has announced its own candidate for contesting the by-polls.
Earlier, senior JD(U) leader Radha Krishna Kishore said Daltonganj was represented by the JD(U), therefore the party would stake its claim in the elections, slated to be held on June 2.
