More than six lakh appear for AIEEE examination

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) About 6.45 lakh students today appeared for the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) across the country.

Of the total number of candidates, 72,900 are from Delhi where 96 examination centres were set up.

This year, the number of students appearing for the examination has registered an increase of around one lakh.

The students appeared for a three-hour paper exam comprising questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics. The total marks for each section is 120, a CBSE spokesperson said.

Those opting for B. Arch course appeared for another paper in the afternoon.

The final list of institutions admitting students through AIEEE 2007, including counselling procedure and schedule, will be released on the AIEEE website in May besides being published in the Information Brochure for Counselling.

The examination is being held for admissions to different National Institute of Technology(NIT), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and Deemed universities for BE, BTech, B Arch and B Planning courses.
