ICBF of Qatar plans to set up ticket bank for repatriation

Dubai, Apr 29 (UNI) Indian Community Benevolent Fund (ICBF) of Qatar, functioning under the Indian embassy, will set up a ''Ticket Bank for Repatriation'' where people can donate air tickets for repatriation of stranded Indian expatriates.

The project aims at meeting the increased demand for air tickets from poor and distressed Indians who wanted to return home.

ICBF president Nilanghsu Dey, while announcing the ICBF plans for the current year, said yesterday that a Help Desk at the Indian embassy will function throughout the week from May 1.

The Fund's disbursement last year amounted to QR186,585 (Two million rupees) which was more than double compared to the previous year.
