Hottest day of this season in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 29 (UNI) It was the hottest day of this month in the Kashmir valley today with the maximum temperature recorded at 29.5 degree Celsius, according to weather office here.
However, the minimum stood at 10.5 degree Celsius.
The highest temperature of this season so far was recorded on April 16 when the maximum stood at 29.0 degrees Celsius.
In Jammu, the maximum was recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum stood at 23.4 degrees Celsius.
The highest temperature recorded in Kashmir during the month of April was on April 20, 1946 when the mercury rose to 31.1 degree Celsius, the weather office said.
On April 30, 1999, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degree Celsius while it stood at 28.7 degree Celsius on April 28, 1993, it added.
The highest ever temperature recorded in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during the past 80 years was on June 29, 1978 when the mercury had gone up to 37.8 degree Celsius.
