Eight killed, five injured in Hazaribagh accident

Ranchi, Apr 29 (UNI) At least eight persons were killed and five others injured, two of them critically, in an accident in Hazaribagh district last night, police today said.

The accident occurred at Jawahar Ghati on Patna-Ranchi main road under Barhi police station area in the district, when a barat party, coming from Chandwara area of Koderma district was on their way to Khari village of the district on a jeep, collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction at about 2330 hrs.

The truck driver fled from the spot.

Eight people died on the spot while the injured were rushed to a local hospital, police sources confirmed.

Two among the injured, who were in critical condition, were sent to Ranjendra Institue of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.
