CPI demands CBI enquiry into 'fake encounter'
Hyderabad, Apr 29: Alleging that the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was 'solely' responsible in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, the CPI today demanded CBI probe into the incident.
Participating in a party meeting here, party's national secretary D Raja alleged that the Gujarat state Crime branch which was conducting probe into the 'fake encounter' would not trace out the real culprits.
Demanding CBI enquiry into the incident and stopping the Gujarat crime branch investigation immediately, he alleged that the BJP leaders and Mr Modi were the masterminds behind the attacks on Muslims in the state since Mr Modi took the reins of the state.
Claiming that the living conditions of Muslims was deteriorating and they were lagging behind, the CPI leader said the minorities needs constitutional protection. ''Sub-plan'' for the Muslims would help to overcome thier problems, he added.
