Coast Guard DG to visit Andaman

Port Blair, Apr 29 (UNI) Director General Coast Guard Vice-Admiral R F Contractor will be visiting Andaman and Nicobar Coast Guard Region from April 30 to May 3.

This will be his second visit there after taking over as the Director General.

During his visit, the DGCG will review the operational effectiveness and infrastructure development in this region.

He will also inaugurate the new Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), which is slated to play an important role in enhancing the search and rescue capabilities of the Coast Guard in Andaman and Nicobar region, Andaman Coast Guard PRO Akshay Jain told newspersons here.

The Director General, Coast Guard will also be visiting District Headquarters number nine located at Diglipur and District Headquarters Number ten located at Campbell Bay, Mr Jain added.
