Lucknow, Apr 29: Taking strong exception to European Union's ''intereference'' in internal matters of the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party today demanded that the death sentence of Afzal Guru in the Parliament attack case should not be delayed further.

BJP vice-president and former external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha said here that if the hanging was delayed then more such international interference would be made to save him.

The European leaders had asked for clemency to 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru during the just-concluded visit of President A P J Abdul Kalam to address the EU Parliament.

''This is direct interference in our legal system and internal matters. It's unacceptable,'' Mr Sinha said.

The BJP leader also demanded a high-level probe into the alleged involvement of Bofors kickback accused Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi in the Rajiv Gandhi's murder case.

''When such suspicion has been raised then it should be thoroughly probed,'' Mr Sinha said.
