Shimoga, Apr 29 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chauhan today urged the Karnataka Government to impose a ban on cow-slaughter.

Addressing a gathering at the valedictory of nine-day 'World Cow Conference' at Shree Ramachandrapur Mutt, near Hosanagara in this district, he said the Madhya Pradesh Government had already imposed a total ban on cow-slaughter.

The Madhya Pradesh Government had set up 453 cow shelters to rear and protect Indian breeds.

The entire cost was being borne by the government. It had also established a separate Board for protection of cows.

He called upon all the Chief Ministers to enact laws on banning cow slaughter.
