Aptech's Chinese arm acquires 32.1 pc market

New Delhi, Apr 29: Aptech's joint venture in China, Aptech Beida Jadebird IT Co Ltd has captured 32.1 per cent market share in the Chinese market, retaining its number one position for the fifth consecutive year, an IDC report said.

According to the report, Aptech's share in the Chinese training market has jumped to 32.1 per cent in the year 2006 from 27.3 per cent in 2005.

The market share of Beijing Aptech Beida Jadebird Information Technology is almost one-third of the total training market.

The top five players of the Chinese IT education and training service market made up for 51.8 per cent of the market share.

Aptech, at 32.1 per cent market share achieved the ranking much ahead of other players including NIIT, Xinhau Computer Education (with 4.6 per cent market share) and Qinghua Wanbo (with 3.8 per cent market share) and Si Yuan IT Education (with 33.7 per cent market share).

Company's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Pramod Khera said,'' The key to Aptech's outstanding performance in China is standardisation of all systems, quality of training and curriculum, which has been appreciated by the students and the industry alike. Additionally, co-operation with college, technical schools and other social institutions has helped to improve our market share.'' The report predicted that in 2007, the market will grow at about 23.71 per cent. Further prediction is until in 2011, there will be a compound annual growth rate of 22.9 per cent of this market.

Aptech has been operating successfully in China through its joint venture-- Aptech Beida Jadebird IT Co Ltd, an affiliate of Beijing University.
