Tiger skin seized, five arrested

Junnar, Pune, Apr 28 (UNI) Five persons have been arrested for allegedly possessing two tiger skins, worth Rs 12.5 lakh and five pistols, two country-made revolvers and 29 live cartridges in Junnar taluka here.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused were arrested yesterday while they were planning a dacoity, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Vishwas Nagre Patil told reporters here today.

Three accomplices, however, managed to escape from the scene under the cover of darkness.

They have been booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, he added.
