'Run' for military world games held

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 28 (UNI) About 500 people participated in the 'run for military world games,'' organised by the Southern Air Command(SAC) today.

The 'Run' was held to create awareness on the Fourth Military World Games to be hosted at Hyderabad and Mumbai in October.

SAC's Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Air Marshal Y R Rane flagged off the Run at Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Pattom, a release here said.

Senior officers of SAC and 91 Infantry Brigade, Armed Force personnel and their families, NCC and Sainik School Cadets, school children and general public took part in the Run.

Nearly 6,000 athletes and officials from 127 member countries are expected to participate in the Hyderabad event.

An Armed Forces Veterans' Meet would be organised next month at Pathanamthitta, it added.
