Bihar: Rs 2.5 lakh fake notes seized

Kolhapur, Apr 28: Police has arrested a youth from Bihar after counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 denomination, worth Rs 2.5 lakh, were recovered from his room.

Police said the arrested youth, identified as Mahmmad Ansar Ilakh (22), was staying in a rented room at village Khotwadi near Parvati Soot Girani district.

Mahmmad was arrested by Panhala police late last night when he was trying to circulate fake notes of Rs 500 denomination at a medical shop at Panhala.

Police raided his room at Khotwadi and seized the notes.

Another person was also taken into custody for interrogation in the matter.
