Robbers loot poultry farm
Anand, Apr 28 (UNI) Eight members of a gang, infamous as the ''chaddi-baniyan'' gang, struck at a poultry farm at Ramnagar village in the wee hours today and decamped with Rs 31,000 in cash.
The robbers struck at the Vishwa poultry farm, about eight kilometres from here around 02:30 hours. They attacked the watchmen -- Sanabhai Harmanbhai Vaghela and Mehjibhai Sanabhai -- with stones and also brandished a revolver forcing the two to flee for their lives.
The robbers then broke into the poultry farm's administrative office and made away with Rs 31,000 kept in the safe.
The ''chaddi-baniyan gang'' is so called since its members wear ''chaddis (shorts)'' and baniyans when they strike in order to avoid recognition.
