Rahul Gandhi lacks wisdom, knowledge: BJP

Varanasi, Apr 28: BJP today said it did not need any young face to counter the charisma of young Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, but would instead use its 'abundant intellect' to dwarf the Amethi MP, 'who lacked wisdom and knowledge.' ''We do not need any glamourous or young face to counter Rahul who lacks wisdom and knowledge. We will dwarf him with intellect which is abundant in BJP,'' former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj told newspersons here.

Earlier last evening, the former Delhi chief minister also made light of recent statements by Rahul saying ''the young man who publicises the achievements of his family instead of the party will soon get a reality check when the electorate teaches the grand old party a lesson just like it did in 1977 and of late in Punjab and Uttarakhand assembly polls.'' Last evening, Union Information and Broadcasting minister and Cong leader Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, addressing an election meeting here had termed the Amethi MP as ''the Chirag of Anand Bhawan (Nehru-Gandhi family's ancestral house).

He had further said BJP and SP had no young face to counter the charisma of Mr Gandhi.
