Punjab govt to involve private PR companies
Chandigarh, Apr 28 (UNI) The Punjab Government would formulate a policy to provide recognition to the PR companies to insure their involvement in some of the ongoing official PR activities, under Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
Mr Jagjit Puri, Secretary, Punjab Information and Public Relations, disclosed this while presiding over a seminar on 'Achieving Excellence in PR through IT Intervention' organised by Public Relations Society of India, (PRSI) Chandigarh Chapter.
In his presidential address, Mr Puri advised PRSI to bring out a directory with the details of PR Companies working in India and abroad along with competitive rate list. He pointed out that at times the state PR department found it difficult to insure proper coverage of the state government's activities and functions organised in other states or abroad.
Col Rajesh Dua, General Manager, IT, Punjab Infotech in his key note address gave a detailed account of current technologies and their applications for strategic information systems. .
Earlier in her welcome address, Ms Renuka B Salwan, Chairperson of the Chandigarh Chapter said that technological changes had a significant impact on communication and PR professionals have to change according to the times.
Mr Charanjit Singh, Managing Director, Core PR stated that for achieving professional excellence, it is imperative to be competitive, ethical and truthful.
