Nissan India today launches 'Teana'

Mumbai, Apr 28: Nissan Motor India today announced the launch of its luxury Sedan, Teana.

Announcing the launch, Nissan Motor India Director (Marketing and Sales) Neeraj Garg said, ''By unveiling this new model we are making a great step forward in the automobile sector. When we decided to launch our second vehicle, we wanted to take advantage of the growing luxury segment. Our research shows that the Indian customer's expectaion of luxury vehicle matches what Teana offers.''

He said the car has been launched after carrying out extensive research. ''Keeping in mind the Indian conditions and the need of customers, changes have been made to Teana's interior as well as exterior. The seats of the car have been changed from suede to leather. Also, there is a visible dual exhaust pipe and the ride height has been raised by 10mm. The triple safety philosophy, information safety, control safety and impact safety, has been used by Nissan for the Indian Teana,'' he added.

Being imported from Nisan's Kyunsu plant in Japan, Teana has been priced at Rs 20.67 lakh (ex showroom).

The new vehicle is powered by a 2.3 ltr V6 petrol engine. Nissan Motor India is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan's Nissan Motors.

The Indian arm of the company was launched in February 2005.
