Muttathu Varkey award for T Padmanabhan

Kottayam, Apr 28 (UNI) Noted short story writer T Padmanabhan has been selected for this year's Muttathu Varkey literary award.

Announcing the award at a news conference here on the birth anniversary of Muttathu Varkey today, Award Committee Convener, M K Madhavan Nair said, the award consists of a cash prize of Rs 33,333, memento and citation.

It would be presented at a function to be held at Kozhikode on May 28, the death anniversary of Muttathu Varkey, he added.

Muttathu Varkey story award instituted for college students went to Surya Gopi, daughter of poet P K Gopi and a degree student of the Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode.

Muttathu Varkey Foundation Secretary, Mathew J Muttathu, Sajan Varghese, Mangalam and other award committee members were also present at the press conference.
