Fire in cotton factory, goods worth Rs 35 lakh destroyed

Hisar, Apr 28 (UNI) Goods and property worth Rs 35 lakh were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a cotton factory in Hansi town of the district today.

The fire broke in Balaji Cotton Factory this morning and the entire factory was engulfed in flames within a short span of time, police said.

Eight fire tenders were pressed into service which took about five hours to control the blaze.

The fire was reportedly caused by a short circuit and according to initial estimates, goods and property worth Rs 35 lakh were destroyed.
