Efforts on to identify Samjhauta blast culprits: DGP
Chandigarh, Apr 28 (UNI) Haryana Director General of Police R S Dalal today said the state police was working with other intelligence agencies to identify the terrorists involved in the Samjauta Express blasts.
''An early breakthrough was made to pinpoint the place where the bombs were assembled. Now the State police was working with other intelligence agencies to identify the terrorists,'' Mr Dalal said at a meeting of the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police here convened by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
He also complimented the Gurgaon police for its success in busting an inter-state gang of truck lifters. He said trucks were being stolen from Haryana and after preparing their forged papers in Uttar Pradesh these were being sold in Kolkata.From Kolkata these trucks were exported to Bangladesh as reconditioned vehicles.
Mr Dalal said that 98 gangs of criminals who indulged in different crimes had been arrested by the state police.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda directed the senior police officers to ensure visibility of police round-the-clock and said Superintendents of Police should make themselves available to the public for at least an hour daily. He directed Superintendents of Police and range Inspector Generals to make surprise visits to police stations so as to check their functioning.
Mr Hooda made it clear to the police officers that they should try their best to redress the grievances of the people.
