Bank of Baroda registered 17.65 per cent net profit

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Bank of Baroda (BoB) here today announced its Q4 results of the financial year 2006-07, and said its net profit was up by 17.65 per cent for the quarter ending March 31.

The Bank gained net profit of Rs 245.66 crore in this quarter, over the net profit of Rs 208.8 crore for the corresponding quarter in the last fiscal.

The net profit of the Bank in 2006-07 was Rs 1,026.47 crore up by 24.12 per cent over the net profit of Rs 826.97 crore in 2005-06.

Where as, the operating profit of the Bank was at Rs 2,415.01 crore in 2006-07, up by 25.95 per cent over the operating profit of Rs 1,917.50 crore in 2005-06.

Operating profit for Q4, 2006-07 was up by 2.53 per cent at Rs 586.55 crore over the operating profit for the corresponding quarter of the last year.

During 2006-07, interest income was higher by Rs 2,162.69 crore 30.68 per cent at Rs 9,212.64 crore as against Rs 7,049.95 crore during 2005-06.

Also, interest earned on advances was up by 57.16 per cent during 2006-07. This was further reflected in the growth of 65.59 per cent in the interest income from advances of the Bank during Q4, 2006-07.

Total Income was also up by 27.01 per cent to Rs 10,385.88 crore in 2006-07 from Rs 8,177.34 crore in 2005-06.
