ATTF shot dead a tribal youth

Agartala, Apr 28: Police today said the underground All Tripura Tiger force (ATTF) militants shot dead a tribal at Ratanpur village, near Bangladesh border, in Tripura's West district yesterday.

Police here said about nine ATTF cadres entered the house of Arun Debbarma (38) forcibly took him away with them to show the way to Baramura hills terrain at Jhumia para under Khowai police station.

Later when Arun tried to escape, the cadres shot him dead, police added.

Soon after the incident, a Special Operation Group of Assam Rifles has launched a search operation to nab the militants.

Police suspects that the militants might have managed to cross the international border.

Meanwhile, a 'Self-styled Sergeant' of ATTF has surrendered before the Teliamura authority in West district.
