Arrest warrant against K C Bokadia stayed
Patna, Apr 28 (UNI) A District and sessions court of Patna today stayed the execution of arrest warrant, earlier issued against noted film producer K C Bokadia, his son Amit Bokadia and brother Rajesh Bokadia, and directed them to appear before the Court on May 29 in connection with a case of breach of contract.
District and Sessions judge Mandhata Singh passed the order after hearing arguments for the bail by the counsel of the accused.
According to the petition, Vishnu Kamalia, director of Anant International, a Patna based film distribution agency, had paid Rs 14 lakh to the owners of Sangeeta pictures pvt Amit Bokadia, his father K C Bokadia and uncle Rajesh Bokadia for distribution rights of a film in the Bihar region.
But Anant International was neither given distribution rights nor its money returned when requested.
During the hearing, the counsel of the accused pointed out that the amount was returned to Mr Kamalia through an organisation in Patna.
Meanwhile, the Court has issued an order to the representative of the organisation to appear before the court on May 29.
