Guj: Woman, her two kids drowned in canal

Rajkot, Apr 27: A 35-year-old woman and her two children drowned in a canal in Maliya Miyana taluka of the district yesterday.

The deceased woman, Rahema Abdula, was washing the clothes at the canal, situated near Kajarda village, along with her children, Jasab and Anisha, when the children accidentally fell into it. Hearing their cries, the woman also jumped into the canal to save them from drowning but in vain, police said today.

Later, all the three bodies were retrieved from the canal and sent for post-mortem at the hospital, they added.
