New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) The Vigilance Department of the Railways has arrested two people who were counterfeiting letterheads of some Members of Parliament, including some late MPs, for reservation of tickets from the emergency and VVIP quota for a monetary consideration.

Railway Ministry sources today said one Mithilesh Kumar, hailing from Shahpur Patti village of Muzaffarour district in Bihar, was arrested yesterday with several letterheads of MPs from the Rail Bhavan here while he was dropping a request letter from the emergency quota in the 'drop box'.

On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he had been working for one Rahul alias Bhamanand Mahto of Dhanbad (Jharkhand) and that the latter would be coming to Rail Bhavan any moment.

The Vigilance Department personnel later arrested Rahul who also had by then arrived at Rail Bhavan in connection with fraudulent reservation of seats.

The arrested duo said they had already made fraudulent use of late MP Sunil Kumar Mahto's fake letterhead for reservation of train tickets from the VVIP quota. A fake letterhead of RJD MP Ramkrirpal Yadav, containing request for reservation of seats, was also recovered from them.

Rahul and Mithilesh further disclosed that they had been engaged in this crime for the past one year. Some travel agents in Delhi and Dhanbad (Jharkhand) were their accomplices.

''The travel agents used to provide them PNR numbers of waitlist tickets and the latter, in turn, got the tickets confirmed from the VVIP quota. They used to get Rs 150-250 for confirming one ticket,'' the sources said.

On the basis of their disclosure, the RPF personnel recovered around 500 fake letterheads of more than 25 MPs from Delhi's Krishnanagar area. The MPs, whose letterheads were counterfieted, included Vijay Singh Yadav, Sunil Kumar Mahto, Veer Singh Yadav, Teklal Mahto, Shatrughan Sinha, Eknath gaekwad, Chandra Shekhar Shahu, Indramani Vora and Bagun Sumbrui.

A case has been registered against the two with the parliament Station police station.
