TTD to collect 50 pc of rent for cottages in AP

Tirumala, Apr 27: Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board today decided to collect 50 per cent of the total rent of cottages for 12-hours from pilgrims, who leave after completing darshan.

After the board meeting, TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said the new system would be applicable from May one for the cottages with rent upto Rs 500.

He said besides providing small laddus as Sri Prasadams at TTD-local temples, the devotees, who opt for 'Sarva Darshanam' through VQC-2, would be given one laddu of 175 gms each at free of cost from May 12.

To propagate Hindu Dharma Pracharam, the board had decided to distribute religious books, CDs and audio cassettes free of cost to every devotees who visit the temple from May 12.

For construction of Hill View Deluxe Cottages (HVDC), he said the board also decided to collect donation of Rs 50 lakh from interested devotees.
