TRS MLA surrenders before court in fake passport case
Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Smithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah today surrendered before a city court in connection with a fake passport case.
The TRS MLA surrendered before the Metropolitan Judge in the presence of his counsel.
Mr Lingaiah was wanted in a case in which he allegedly obtained fake paspports in the name of a woman stated to be his wife, using false certificates. He had been absconding for the last three days.
Police began investigations and the Regional Passport Office here was asked to submit details of the passport.
He obtained the passport in the name of his wife K Tara for a woman using fake ration card as proof on January 25, 2007. He also submitted joint affidavits to the Passport Office saying the woman was his wife.
Along with the woman, the TRS MLA went to Chennai to get visa from US Consulate on February 21.
He was elected from Nerella Constituency of Karim Nagar in District in the last Assembly elections.
The TRS was already facing a crisis with heavyweight and second-in-command A Narendra suspended from the party for his alleged involvement in the human trafficking case.
