Thapar Centre signs MoU with Akzo Coating

Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) In its drive to make the Indian industry more competitive by containing the enormous losses caused by corrosion, CII--L M Thapar Centre for Competititiveness today signed a Memorandum of Undsteranding (MoU) with Akzo Nobel Coating.

Mr B Ramakrishan, General manager, Akzo Noble Coating India Pvt Ltd and Mr Harkinderjeet Singh, Deputy Head, CII--L M Thapar Centre for Competitiveness signed the MoU at Bangalore, on behalf of their organisations.

Estimates indicate that the country is losing around Rs 35,000 crore every year because of corrosion and this loss can be tremendously reduced by providing much needed knowledge about the subject. Signing of the MoU is a major step forward in the direction as it outlines the commitment of both the organisations to establish, develop and disseminate knowledge about corrosion prevention.

Under this MoU CII--L M Thapar Centre for Competitiveness and Akzo Nobel Coatings will carry out detailed corrosion audits, training programmes on corrosion prevention, national and international level seminars and will also bring out a newsletter on corrosion prevEntion.
