Tata Ryerson prod to reach 2 mn mark in 2 yrs

Kolkata, Apr 27: Tata Ryerson, a Tata Group company, has aimed to achieve the production target of two million tonnes and turnover of Rs 2000 crore within two years while the investments would reach Rs 300 crore in the current fiscal.

Speaking on the sidelines of a workshop on "Sharing of Best Manufacturing Practices", Tata Ryerson Managing Director Sandipan Chakravarty said, ''With inception of three new plants in Singur, Chennai and Uttaranchal in the current year, we expect to touch two million tonne production mark in next two years.'' In these three plants, the company would witness investment of Rs 300 crore in the current fiscal.

''Tata Ryerson would invest Rs 120 crore for Tata Motors plant in Singur, Rs 60 crore in heavy vehicles manufacturing plant in Chennai and Rs 40 crore in Ace truck manufacturing unit in Panthnagar of Uttaranchal,'' he said.
