Patiala, Apr 27 (UNI) Opposing the demand for a separate Gurdwara committee for Haryana, the working president of Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal today demanded that all Gurdawaras of the country should come under the one umbrella of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee.

Talking to UNI Mr Sukhbir Badal charged the Nehru-Gandhi family of ''hatching conspiracies to divide Sikhs to have control on Sikh institutes and Gurdawaras,'' adding that now Congress chief Sonia Gandhi had directed their ''stooges in Haryana to hatch another conspiracy'' against Sikhs.

To counter this devious plan, the SGPC will hold awareness campaigns from May in Sikh-dominated areas of Haryana to make them realize that ''It was a Congress ploy to divide the Sikhs of Haryana and equivalent to a direct interference in the affairs of the community", the SAD working president said.

He said any amendment in the Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1925, was not possible without taking Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh into confidence and Section 72 of the Punjab Re-organisation Act clearly provides that board (SGPC) constituted under the provisions of Part-III of the Punjab Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1925 shall be an Inter- State Body Corporate and only Union of India can issue directions or make law in this regard.
