Shimla sizzles at 26.2 degrees
Shimla, Apr 27 (UNI) Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh were rising during the summer season with maximum in the state capital soaring to 26.2 degrees today, the met office said.
''Shimla today sizzled at 26.2 degree Celsius, the highest during this summer season,'' Shimla's Meteorological Office Director Manmohan Singh told UNI here.
He said the town's maximum temperature, which is normally about 22 and 23 degrees during this period of the year, was about three degree Celsius above normal this year.
Shimla had yesterday recorded a high of 23.7 degrees and a low of 14.7 degree.
Mr Singh said the maximum temperatures across the state were also five to three degree Celsius above normal due to the continuing dry spell, which had already created drinking water crises in several areas of the state.
The maximum at Sundernagar, Bhuntar, Kalpa and Dharamshala soared to 36.4, 34.4, 23.7 and 30.6 degree Celsius respectively, the met office said.
It said Shimla recorded a night temperature of 16.2, Sundernagar 14.4, Bhuntar 11.3, Kalpa 7.4 and 19.1 degree Celsius at Dharamshala.
The met office has predicted dry weather spell in the state during the next 24 hrs.
