Rupee opens weaker, trades at 41.05/08
Mumbai, Apr 27: The rupee today opened at 40.95/97 against the US dollar, compared with the previous closing rate of 40.89/90.
In the early hours of trading, the domestic unit slid to an intra-day's low of 41.09, off from the earlier peek of 40.95, and is currently trading at 41.05/08, traders said.
Yesterday, the rupee had shown vivid signs of appreciation, drawing the benefit of a weak dollar and robust foreign institutional investments (FII) and foreign direct investments (FDI) inflow into stock markets.
Contrary to the analysts view, the Reserve Bank annual monetary policy, announced recently, claimed a lesser impact upon the market, dealers added.
