Rai dance controversy gathers momentum in MP

Bhopal, Apr 27: Different opinions have been voiced by leaders of Madhya Pradesh's main opposition Congress regarding Bundelkhand region's folk dance Rai being performed on April 20 during a government-organised mass marriage at Sagar district's Garhakota on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya.

''It was a vulgar display,'' alleged party General Secretary Manak Agrawal while reacting to the performance that took place in the presence of Cooperatives Minister Gopal Bhargava. Holding the Minister responsible, Mr Agrawal demanded his resignation.

''If Mr Bhargava does not put in his papers, I will launch an agitation,'' he told UNI
