Power purchase agreement signed
Bhopal, Apr 27 (UNI) A power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed for the supply of power generated from the 1,000 MW Indira Sagar and 520 MW Omkareshwar projects to MPTRADEECO.
The tripartite agreements in this regard had been signed between the National Hydropower Development Corporation (NHDC), the MPTRADEECO and the Madhya Pradesh Government.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of three new proposed hydroelectric projects in the middle Narmada Basin at Bauras, Hoshangabad and Handia was also signed between the NHDC and state government.
The documents were signed in the presence of Chief Secretary R C Sahni.
As per the PPA, full power generated from Indira Sagar Project and Omkareshwar Project would be supplied to the MPTRADEECO, whereas the state government would act as guarantor.
As per the MoU, the NHDC had been authorised to carry out the survey, investigation and preparation of Detailed Project Report and execution of viable projects on ownership basis.
