Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) The Special Police today raided the house of Rashid, one of the main accused in BJP MP Babubhai Katara human trafficking case.

Sources said the MP was absconding since the scam was unearthed.

The Sources said taking cue from media revelations about Rashid's address, a special police team went to the house located at Malakpet. They recovered some documents and materials from his house.

His family members were also interrogated.

Based on the statements made by Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah, who surrendered before a city court and was remanded to judicial custody, that he had met Rashid several times, the police intensified their investigation.

Rashid had gone to the Gulf countries after getting married and had returned some years ago. He also went to Holland on a fake passport and worked there for some time.

After returning from Holland, Rashid was actively involved in preparing fake passports and visa for foreign-going aspirants.

He was arrested on July 11, 2003 in connection with a fake passport case and was released on bail.

Sources said Rashid had 'good' contacts with political leaders in the capital. Police suspect that he fled to Bangalore after the Katara case came to limelight.
