PIL challenges Cong election symbol

Lucknow, Apr 27 (UNI) A PIL seeking derecognition of the Congress poll symbol 'panja' (human palm with fingers) was filed in the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court registry today.

The hearing on the PIL is likely to be taken up on April 30.

The PIL was filed by Public Justice Society through its counsel Ashok Pandey.

The petiton claims that using human body parts as election symbol cannot be allowed.
