Puducherry: PEC orders abolished

Puducherry, Apr 27: The administration had abolished the orders issued by the Pondicherry Engineering College directing students selected through the Centralised Admission Committee for 2006-07 to pay Rs 12,000 before April 30 failing which they would not be allowed to sit for examinations.

Replying to a special mention from Mr S P Sivakumar (DMK), Education Minister M O H F Shajahan said the order was abolished and a circular in this regard pasted on the college notice board.

In response to the special mention from Mr R Viswanathan (CPI) yesterday,the Minister said the administration had taken steps to change the prospects for CENTAC joint enterance examination It mentioned ten years of continous residence in Puducherry to claim nativity instead of five years.
